A&P Show 2025

Come to Project Parore’s and Renaturing Katikati’s plantation station at the Katikati A&P’s 100th Show on Sunday, February 2, at the Katikati Domain on the main road and have a yarn with the team. As well as advice regarding plantings, the team will be able to give you advice on trapping pests, land retirement and restoration. The team is all about practical efforts to improve water quality and reverse biodiversity loss.

After you’ve visited the Project Parore site, have a wander down to the end of the A&P paddock and see how much the demonstration restoration area that was fenced and planted at last year’s show has transformed.

Right: Tejay Samuels and Glenn Templeton from the Project Parore REP crew look at the trees planted at the 2024 Katikati A&P Show. The trees were supplied by Project Parore and planted mainly by children.

The urban environment in Katikati has magnificent reserves, esplanades and walkways that embrace river, estuarine and harbour margins. The reserves benefit the wellbeing of our community in so many ways. Renaturing Katikati volunteers bring the energy, effort and determination to make a difference in the Katikati shared ‘backyard’. They care for the Haiku Park river margins as well as a raft of other Katikati reserves. Volunteers also manage a network of bait stations and traps around the Uretara estuary and harbor margin on reserve land.

Although none of the native plants at the show are for sale, their selection and numbers will impress you. The REP (Restoration, Enhancement, Protection) team’s expertise and knowledge around local climate conditions, where and when to plant what could prove invaluable and ultimately save you money as well as enhance your property.

As well as Project Parore and Renaturing Katikati, their Show corner will also have displays from Aongatete Forest Project and Forest & Bird Tauranga.
