Uretara Estuary Managers, established a nursery in the ground of the Radius Lexham Park retirement village.  This was a great spot to propagate locally sourced native seeds and transplanted seedlings for use in restoration projects on both private and public land.

The nursery has been relocated to the Project Parore operations base in Mulgan Street and is now significantly larger. Renaturing Katikati volunteers have a regular monthly session at the nursery to propagate, re-pot and grown-on a variety of native shrubs and trees.  Not all species are readily commercially available so it is valuable to have a place where the more unusual or harder to grow plants can be nurtured.  We are fortunate to have the skills and experience of very green-thumbed locals including trustee Peter Babbage for seed sourcing and dark art of germination.
