Yeoman Walkway
Volunteers began pest control for rats along the riverbank and estuary edge in 2004, which alleviated some of the pressure on the few remaining birds. Their chances of survival have been boosted since then by volunteers planting natives to stabilise banks, improve habitat and to provide sources of food. Ongoing pest control is absolutely vital and work to revegetate the entire margin is continuing.
